Parental Involvement
At Sacred Heart we welcome involvement from parents, grandparents and siblings - it is essential that open relationships are fostered. You can get involved with your school, by contacting the Office, ask how you can help at the Canteen or Uniform shop, or help at a P&F fundraiser event. Research shows that when parents play a part in the school lives of their children, then school is a much more enjoyable and positive experience for the children. There are many ways that you may be able to be involved;
Kitchen/Garden Program
The Kitchen/Garden program is from Kinder through to Stage 3, and for it to run smoothly we encourage parents to be involved as often as they can. It involves helping with the food preparation and cooking, as well as assisting the teacher. No experience is necessary. It is an enjoyable and rewarding experience. Contact the office on 69226900 for more details
Sacred Heart P&F
The Sacred Heart P&F meets every first Tuesday of the month in the school staff room at 6.30pm. It is a way to recognize the importance of the role that parents play within the school, and is there to assist in the strengthening of relationship between the school, parents, parish and wider community. Some of the important roles the P&F play are;
School Council
The School Council assists the Principal to ensure that the Catholic ethos of the school is maintained. The council's task is to advise the principal, assist with maintenance, financial planning and evaluation of the effectiveness of the school's activities in accordance with Diocesan guidelines. The Council's role is one of service to the school community.
The School Council meets twice a term in the staff room at 5.30pm.
School Assemblies
School assemblies are held on Friday at 2.30pm in the Sacred Heart hall on a rostered basis. The assembly in the final week is where Mindful Student awards are presented. Parents are most welcome to join us.
