The Sacred Heart Community
Sacred Heart is a warm, vibrant and welcoming community, where students, parents, teachers and the parish work as one to achieve the common goal of educating our students within an environment of Christ-like values and principles.
There is a real common purpose around Sacred Heart where the teachers are leaders in their field of collaboration and Inquiry. They work hard to create a warm and open environment within the school, whereby students have the confidence to ask questions, to strive for answers, to persist with tasks and to know that there is more than one way to answer questions. They are always available to discuss matters relating to school with parents by meeting before or after school, or via the office to make appointments. Clear and open lines of communication between school and home are encouraged, and are a major part in the development of this relationship.
Our Parent community is an integral part of Sacred Heart. They are acknowledged as the principle educators of their children, and as such, are always welcome to contribute to their child's class. The simplest way of assisting the school is to be supportive of the teachers and community. Some 'hands on' ways of assisting within the school are by helping the class teacher, working in the canteen, assisting at sports carnivals, helping out in the kitchen garden program, becoming part of the P&F and coming to working bee's.
